Is this legal advice?

No. The Title IX Trap is an educational resource based on research interviews with affected families, students, and attorneys. It does not constitute legal advice. If your son is facing a Title IX complaint, consult qualified legal counsel immediately.

Who is this book for?

Any family sending a son to college — and any young man heading to campus. While the students and families who participated in our research were predominantly male, false accusations can affect any student regardless of gender, orientation, nationality, or neurodivergence. The guidance applies broadly.

Can this really happen to my son?

Every family we interviewed said they never thought it would happen to them. In our research, accusations often followed breakups, social conflicts, or situations where both parties described events very differently. The students involved were typically capable young men with bright futures and no prior disciplinary issues. A campus investigation can result in suspension, expulsion, a permanent mark on a transcript, and in some cases, criminal charges — even when the accused is ultimately cleared.

What's the difference between the Student and Parent editions?

Both editions cover the same topics from different perspectives. The Student Edition speaks directly to your son — practical, direct, and designed to be read before college. The Parent Edition gives you the full context, including the financial reality, the emotional toll on families, and how to advocate effectively. We recommend the bundle so your family can prepare together.

What format is the ebook?

Both PDF and EPUB files are included with your purchase. Read on any device — phone, tablet, laptop, or e-reader. Files are delivered via email immediately after purchase. Need help opening your files? See our Download Help page.

Does this only apply to certain schools?

Title IX applies to all educational institutions that receive federal funding — virtually every public and private college and university in the United States. Each institution has latitude in how they implement their policies, and procedures vary. We recommend reviewing your specific university's Title IX policy before enrollment.

What happens if a student is found 'responsible'?

A finding of 'responsible' can result in suspension or expulsion and a notation on the student's academic transcript. This can affect graduate school applications, professional licensing, and employment. In many of the cases we studied, criminal charges were also filed. Media and social media coverage of accusations is rarely corrected even when charges are dropped or the student is cleared. The families we interviewed described the consequences as life-altering.

How is my privacy protected?

Your purchase is processed through our secure payment partner. Your credit card statement will show 'Method & Meaning' — not the book title. We do not share or sell your information. We understand the sensitivity of this topic and have designed the purchase process with your family's privacy in mind.

What is your refund policy?

Because this is a digital product delivered immediately upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds. If you have an issue with your download, contact us and we'll make it right.

Are the case studies real?

Yes. Every case study is drawn from interviews with students, parents, and attorneys. All names, institutions, and identifying details have been changed to protect privacy. In the cases we examined, the students described the encounters as consensual or involving no intimate contact.
